show larger in a new window

Gritstone edges and the slopes beneath support a range of plant communities and are particularly good for lichens and mosses. Inaccessible ledges are used for nesting by peregrines, ravens and merlin.  Ring ouzels prefer the boulder slopes and rocky outcrops.
